I love Adelaide and South Australia. I love the oddities, the peculiarities and the idiosyncrasies. For some strange reason, I even love the head-shaking, face-palming, sigh-inducing frustrations that seem to exist only in this state.
As a naive, fresh-faced 17-year old, I left Adelaide to pursue employment in the ‘big smoke’ of the eastern states, later heeding the call to return ‘home’ to SA to start a family.
What follows is my take on life as a Croweater in Adelaide, a celebration of the things that make us different, and an overarching desire to ‘keep Adelaide weird’.
